Creating links is one of the oldest and most effective SEO tactics. This is also one of the most productive ways to increase organic search traffic.
Strangely, creating links can hurt your traffic.
In the past, links like Google found out which pages were good: the link was a recommendation, so websites with a large number of links took a higher position. Google has allowed the site to decide how good each page is. Since then, Google updates have been primarily designed to accelerate work on this process by acquiring undeserved links.
Now we are at the point where reliable methods of connecting to a very white hat still work. In principle, it is impossible to effectively request, borrow, steal, or buy links. All you can do is make money. But there are still clever ways to do it. And some of them allow you to compete with the successes of your competitors at the same time!
1st guest blog
Google warned against the guest release and moved many people. But high-quality, targeted guest news is different from the mass, low-cost contributions that were a key element of the SEO strategy a few years ago. Quite right, a guest blog can be an effective link building tool.
The first thing you have to do is to get the best place in the guest blog that you can. Identify the sites that can claim your guest post by viewing guest messages from your competitors. For example, I use Neil Patel, which means that we will get many search results.
Begin the advanced Google search by quoting the author’s name in quotation marks and quoting the words “guest post”. Insert the author’s home domain with a minus sign in front so that all these results are excluded.
The results of HubSpot and Forbes are indeed the articles by Neal Patel; others mention it in detail about the guest publication. Since Patel’s name is everywhere on the Internet, it can help narrow it down a bit. Therefore, the alternative is to find the URL and identify the author as the author so that you do not associate anything with it or just mention it.
Search for the name of the author in quotation marks and use the search parameter inurl: author.
It is better. There are more useful results. But we can use the Ahrefs Content Explorer to identify the content of a specific author. Enter the name of the author as a search query in this form:
Author: “Name of the author”
Make sure there is no space between the colon and the first quote.
It’s much better than Google. Not only do we see more of what we are looking for, but also directly in the sidebar.
If your member has already appeared on the site, it’s likely to come from the same site as well. After you have collected some websites, you can send them via the form “write for us” or send an e-mail to the editor.
Then you have to get the best links for guests (guests). A guest blog works to create links because you can put links to your website in your post, and usually in the author’s biography.
Make sure the links are contextual, if possible, and are not hidden in the author’s biores, where they are less likely to be clicked and where Google does not like them. The best way to get a natural contextual connection is to treat that resource as if it were a stranger. Just put it in a natural way and use anchor text that points to its relevance, not your website. And be generous. In the top search result Patel communicates once with Quicksprout, as well as Moz, Copyblogger and many other places.
2. public relations
Public relations in the context of building links simply means that you use the same methods to get backlinks that you can use to print.
If you want to be a source, subscribe to HelpaReporter.com and they will tell you if they need someone with your imagination skills.
Also consider classic PR movements such as press releases. Bloggers and journalists collect the information, so if something happens – you have a new integration, the customer, the product, the function – to simplify the search. Then you are probably busy with every article that deals with the topic.
In cases where most people get press releases wrong, excessive use of anchor text links. This is one of the factors most likely to cause a penguin penalty. Instead, use a press release to post various bindings that are tied to your site.
In addition, press releases can be added to directories and databases, making it an even better SEO tool.
Even if you really mention it, there is no real guarantee that people who refer you will give you a link. Sometimes things slip through the net. When this happens, it can be useful to refer to them and remind them who you want to be connected to.
You can follow the mentions in Ahrefs. Go to Notifications> References> Add notification> Search query> Daily> Add.
You can track your competitors in the same way.
3. Broken link building
Even good, well-maintained websites suffer from “Linkrot”. Links lead to a place on the internet, but when websites move their content, some links eventually lead to empty places. Users come to search for a resource and find a free set.
Bad link building fixes this and gets links. It relies on finding broken links, defining the content they reference, and then inviting the referring page to point to a new, inseparable content – yours.
Everyone wins: Website visitors see more fresh, useful content and less than 404s; Websites do not have a whole bunch of broken links; and you get high quality feedback. For marketers, this is an effective way to kill two birds with one stone: you’ll get a blog post based on the right keyword, and you can save it as opposed to guest post. So, if someone uses it as a resource, those links will return to you. But you also get the juice lines.
How you do that?
Start by defining the website you want to link to. Once you’ve identified keywords, search for them and define sites for them. Then check these websites in Ahrefs and give the broken link.
Use the Broken feature in the site browser to identify backlinks that are not working. Let’s take a look at Copyblogger, a copywriting blog. Do not forget to check the links to the outgoing links, otherwise you will not get broken backlinks leading to the copyblogger.
Make sure these are dofollow links that point to useful content. Choose Dofollow from the Broken Links drop-down list and you’ll get a completely different view.
After identifying a broken link that is similar to their subject, follow it in the wheelhouse. You should see 404 in the domain of the site. I followed the third dead link for 21 ways to create attractive content if you have no idea. Anchor Text gives me a pretty good idea of what the topic will be: “Why interviews are great to keep a blog”. The URL, http://clevermarketer.com/interv …, tells me the same story. And that’s 404.
Now is the time to find out what the content was originally meant to do to create something that replaces and surpasses it.
Just because there is no content right now does not mean that we can not see it. There is a free time machine on the Internet at the website called archive.org, which allows you to search for what was in the past at the given URL.
Just enter the URL and you will see its history.
(This may take a while, so be patient.)
Now we have everything we need to write a better, more complete, more detailed version of the original, which is in its current state.
Write the content and publish it on your own blog. Then contact the website and tell them:
Hey, you have a broken link! I just wrote a piece of content that would match the link. Do you want to change the target of the link to be linked to my content?
If that sounds a bit familiar, it could be because it’s so similar …
4. Resource links
Rather than pointing to your blog post or page on your website, links to resources return to your hard research or accumulated knowledge that everyone else needs to know.
How often do you think people will turn to the Marketing Report in 2016 to market the Content Marketing Institute?
Here are 1516 unique domains linking this portion of the content.
The key is to create resources that are useful to users in your area so they can contact them when they use them in blog posts or other content. It does not have to be an original study. It can be a collection of information from different places collected together and presented to a group of people.
You can create resources using the same methods that you would use to steal your competitor’s traffic and links: Find out what people in your space want to know by identifying the content they consume, and eliminate that knowledge gap.
5. Find the backlinks of the participants and “steal them”
If the site is referring to a competitor, they will probably contact you as well. Start by defining the ten most important sites for each keyword you want to rank for. Do a Google search and select the top ten domains.
Suppose we want to rate “Email marketing for Halloween”.
We will see some really terrible puns.
Santility tests them for relevance, duplication and, well, reason. Make sure you remove all errors. For example, GetResponse, Pure360 and Adestra make sense. But Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting Software & Research Solutions? Maybe not.
Take these domains to Ahrefs and put them into the Link Intersect tool.
Leave the message “but not connected” and click on “show link options”.
This will show you the list of sites that point to all the domains you have entered.
If you get a similar list of generic material that you do not need, you’ll need to reduce the number of domains a bit.
Go back and remove some less likely candidates and then try again.
This time the results are much more useful. There are areas such as “Guide to Email”, “CustomerThink” and “Internet Marketing” and “Blog Center SEO”. You will achieve good profitability goals.
You can also try copying the feedback profiles of your competitors. This approach requires much more work, but it’s a very effective way to get a natural backlink profile that you like Google.
Start by collecting URLs and not domains for each keyword. So when we go back to “Halloween email marketing,” we’re going to pick up a dozen organic results and give them arefs. Then we drop them in Site Explorer and choose backlinks.
When I did this, some of the best search results had only one or two backlinks, but the GetResponse infographics had 10 unique domains.
The next step is to go through the links and find out how the competitor bought the link. You can copy the same method to get a link from this site yourself. If it was a guest post, it could be so. If you’ve hammered the link by adding the site to the directory, it can work if it’s specific to your space and the quality is high.
